Application Designer is the PeopleSoft IDE, it is the number one PeopleTool.

The main capabilities of the Application Designer is:

Create and edit Fields (and their translate pages and Field Formats)
Create and edit Records (database tables and views, virtual derived records, and temporary records for Application Engine processes)
Create and edit Pages (including sub pages and secondary pages)
Create and edit Components
Create and edit Menus (for security)
Create and Edit Business Workflow processes
Create and Edit Application Engines (batch programs)
Create and edit PeopleCode programs (on Pages, Records, Components and Application Packages)
Create and edit Application Packages (Object orientated programming)
