UK Oracle User Group 2015

The Oracle User Group in the UK was split into three streams - TECH15, APPS15 and JDE15. As a PeopleSofter, I was there for the APPS15 stream.

There were many opportunities to mix in the social and exhibition portions of the day to talk to many different Oraclysers.

Jeremy Ashley

Jeremy Ashley, Oracle's guru on use ability, gave an inspiring talk on Oracle's view of applications of current mobile technology - such as the use of GPS combined with time and knowledge of habits to badge into work and warn when you are moving towards a safety restricted area.

He also introduced the concept of glance, scan and commit.

From a PeopleSoft point of view, the highlight of the UK OUG 15 was the introduction of PeopleTools 8.55. Jeff Robbins talked through the new features, going into some detail of the new Cloud architecture that allows PeopleTools to be installed, deployed or changed.

There were also presentations covering test automation, a roadmap for HCM 9.2 updates, and a taster of my hints and tips on PeopleSoft Query.
